History
Jislat was a very small town of around 800 people until the unification of Kulpania. It was realised that the town's strategic location would be very useful for building and maintaining a port to allow easy transportation between the Kulpan mainland and Micajer. As such, in 1290, the Kulpan government ordered the Potor Council (the Council with jurisdiction over Micajer at the time) to begin construction on a large port in Jislat. The port was intended to be large enough to support a large number of large ships, and consequently construction of the port took thirteen years. It was opened in the spring of 1303, and the town officially changed its name to Port of Micajer to celebrate the opening of the revolutionary transport hub. The Council quickly set up a regular ferry service from the island to the Ŋila Dock, which received an incredibly high amount of traffic in the first few weeks of its running. This ferry service still operates to this day, but it is now operated by the Kulpan highspeed KulpanRail franchise, who have operated the service since 1996.
In 1373, a strange disease began to plague the island. This disease would turn people mad and make them run around frantically. The first outbreak was in Port of Micajer in the late summer of 1373, and the infected people started to be called "
Transport
Port of Micajer is connected to the Kulpan mainland via a ferry service, operated by the KulpanRail franchise Kulpan highspeed, which departs from Ŋasí Port and lands on the West Potor coast, around thirty miles north-east of Artun. The service operates at a frequency which correlates to rail services on the Micajer rail line. This rail line is operated by Dutell Trains, and on most days trains run every thirty minutes between Tolian Front and Ŋasí Port, with ferries leaving the port ten minutes after a train arrives.
